New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church- Laymen The Laymen Ministry represents organized Baptist manpower in New Mt. Zion. It is our contention that "you can't beat organized manpower." We further accept the adage that "where there is unity, certainly there is strength." An example of this is referenced by the story relative to a man with five (5) sons, who asked each one to bring him a stick. He tied all five (5) slicks together and asked each one to break them. Neither son could break the sticks because they were bound together (an illustration that suggests that united manpower carries power and can withstand the pressures that we will encounter). The New Mt. Zion Laymen Ministry serves as a training center and service organization for aspirant and current laymen members. In the largest sense, the Laymen Ministry is a movement of Christian men with the common goal of advancing the Word of God in the community in which we live, our state, our country, and the world. It is necessary that the Laymen continuously evangelize. Therefore, it is essential that the New Mt. Zion Laymen adhere to the following expectations: 1. To organize and coordinate the men of New Mt. Zion to implement an effective program and activities that provide Christian fellowship. ... 2. To provide opportunities for New Mt. Zion Laymen to nurture and grow in their Christian life through study, worship and service. 3. To inspire the New Mt. Zion Laymen to support the programs of the church (time - talent - finance). The ministry of the New Mt. Zion Laymen encompasses the Great Commission that is, Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always. To the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
