New Mount Zion: "Laymen Ministry" Responsibilities of Laymen • Study and be informed - Study requires action. Workshops, inservice at the local, state and national levels. √ Attend Bible study √ Attend Sunday School √ Other classes as deemed appropriate • Service is required - Those who are capable of much, much is required. It is important that the New Mt. Zion Laymen become actively involved in supporting the total program of the church. √ Business, Financial √ Spiritual √ Fellowship Evangelize at every opportunity - It is the ultimate responsibility to go out into all the world and teach others. √ Prepare with study and model characteristics that manifest Christ in our lives.
Characteristics of Laymen Trust in the Lord - To be led by the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, Rid self of doubt. Doubt blinds us to all types of possibilities. Continue to move from doubt to trust. When you trust in God, when you claim unity with the Holy Spirit and allow it to direct your life, you are empowered in a mighty way. Be a role model of exemplary standards. The Layman's light must shine that others may see the Glory of God manifest itself within us. The fifth (5th) chapter of Matthew teaches the ultimate virtues that Laymen should ascribe to attain: "You therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48) |
